A quality education is one of the most valuable tools a person has at their disposal. As industries around the world evolve, educational backgrounds and requirements must evolve with a changing workforce. This evolution has led to schools shifting much of their emphasis to STEM education programs.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation's TRAC™ program uses hands-on activities to strengthen students' skills in STEM classes, while introducing them to careers in the transportation industry, specifically civil engineering. The activities are designed for students to utilize critical thinking skills to solve real-world problems.

This STEM education outreach programs is offered by SDDOT at no cost to the school or teacher, so we encourage parents to talk to their student's teachers about becoming involved with TRAC™.
